Yesterday, Debbie Potter and I had a frightening experience. She gave me her ring so she could apply sunscreen. I put it in her shorts’ back pocket, and I thought she understood. We enjoyed our beach day, but as we were leaving, she asked for her ring. I told her where I’d put it. It was missing. We searched the beach without luck. In desperation, I turned to Facebook. I posted on ten Long Island groups. The response was overwhelming, with people sharing, commenting, and offering support. Several people with metal detectors contacted me. Mike Jandris said he was on his way and would arrive in 35 minutes. I was amazed that someone who didn’t know us would help us find the ring, especially driving out of his way. I met him, and within five minutes of searching, he found it. He’s a true hero to me and my wife. I asked him to add me on Facebook because only a true friend would go to such lengths. Thank you again, Mike!
