Veronica Peters Proves Worse Villain Than Olivia Plath

Welcome To Plathville’s long-held villain isn’t a major part of the series anymore but after breaking away from the family, Olivia Plath’s replacement is proving to be far worse than she ever was. Olivia, who spent five years married to the eldest Plath son, Ethan Plath, struggled heartily throughout her time with the Plath family. Welcome To Plathville season 7 has been sparse on Olivia.

While she’s still a part of Ethan’s life as their divorce has yet to be finalized, it’s clear that she wanted to separate herself from the family after her marriage came to an end. Throughout Welcome To Plathville seasons 5 and 6, Olivia and Ethan’s marriage crumbled. The former couple were featured separately on the show, and it was clear they weren’t reconciling.

Though Olivia’s relationship did become a part of Welcome To Plathville season 6, she was far more removed from the show as the season went on. Now, having appeared minimally on Welcome To Plathville season 7, the villain role outside of the Plath family has shifted. Unfortunately, Olivia’s replacement is a far worse villain than she ever was to the Plaths.

Veronica Peters Has Taken Over Olivia’s Villain Role On Welcome To Plathville

As Olivia was phased out of the cast of Welcome To Plathville, Micah Plath’s relationship with Veronica Peters began to find its legs. While Veronica was around the family for quite some time before she felt comfortable appearing on Welcome To Plathville, when she finally showed her face on the series, it was clear she would be quite the character.

Veronica, a luxury realtor from Florida, has spent the majority of her time on Welcome To Plathville pushing back against Micah’s family, though she was hopeful she’d be able to fit in with them at first. Unfortunately, Kim Plath struggled with Micah’s significant other, and things spiraled after her disapproval. While Veronica’s role wasn’t initially villainous, things have changed quickly.

Veronica Is Far More Villainous Than Olivia Ever Was

Throughout Welcome To Plathville season 7, it’s been clear that Veronica and Micah’s relationship is breaking down. While Micah admitted to cheating on Veronica, it became clear that their connection wasn’t only hurt by his infidelity quickly. Veronica has been openly belittling Micah, talking down to him, and admonishing his family both behind their backs and to their faces frequently.

While Olivia had her issues with the Plath family and was upfront about how she felt, her role as a “villain” was more perception than actual reality. Olivia spent her time hoping that her pushback against the Plaths would give her marriage a fighting chance. Veronica, on the other hand, feels misunderstood and has chosen to fight back with vitriol of her own.

Rather than breaking things off with Micah in a clean way and understanding that making him choose between her and his family isn’t the path forward, Veronica has chosen to be irrationally difficult all season long. The Welcome To Plathville villain has been harsh and, at times, downright mean to her partner without any explanation. Veronica’s behavior has far exceeded Olivia’s villainy.

Welcome To Plathville airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. EDT on TLC.
