“Tonight at our local Golden Corral, we were mid-bite, laughing with a friend, when two sheriff’s deputies walked in.

They looked tired — still in uniform, phones pressed to their ears, tension written all over their faces. They made their way around the buffet, filled their plates, and finally sat down across from each other.

And then…
Their radios crackled: “Shots fired.”

Without hesitation, they dropped everything and were out the door — their meals still steaming, completely untouched.

It hit me in that moment…
Most of us wouldn’t leave dinner to help a stranger.
But they do. Every day.

Thank you to our officers.
Thank you for the missed meals.
Thank you for the sleepless nights.
Thank you for the family moments you sacrifice.
Thank you for walking straight toward danger when the rest of us run away.

You might not wear capes, but you’re everyday heroes.” 🖤💛
