“Today, I am 2,100 days sober. And tomorrow, my debut novel, which has a sober protagonist, is finally out in the world.

People evolve and change—I’d argue that’s one of the best parts of life. But as such, nothing is permanent. After 2,100 days (almost 6 years) of sobriety, I no longer feel the need to post about my recovery every day.

Not to say I don’t talk about my sobriety—I do, and I’ve been honored to meet many alcohol-free friends because of that! I love that being open and loud about my sobriety allows me to connect with the community. And I appreciate those recovery friends who are sticking around despite the content pivot. I love you.

Personally, publishing a thriller with a sober main character is a pretty big deal and the culmination of my entire sobriety journey. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that this milestone has lined up with my pub date. It was meant to happen that way.

Getting sober got me here, and I couldn’t be more grateful.”
