“This morning, a few people saw my 10-year-old walking to school… with me following behind her. Some asked why. Others gave me dirty looks.

Here’s why:
👉 Because she forgot how to treat adults.
👉 Because she confused her size with authority.
👉 Because her behavior toward me and other adults was unacceptable.

So yes, she walked. Not because I don’t love her—but because I do.

I’m the mom who makes sure she’s safe, but I’m also the mom who isn’t afraid for her to be mad at me sometimes. I’m not here to be her friend. I’m here to raise her into someone who knows respect, responsibility, and gratitude.

Too many parents are scared of hurting their kid’s feelings. Me? I’m more scared of raising a child who grows up to be entitled.

So she walked. Thinking. Reflecting. Maturing. Learning. Growing.

And I walked behind, watching. Because I love her enough to teach her hard lessons.

We’re not here to be their buddies. We’re here to raise them into people worth being friends with.”
