This happened a couple of weeks ago, and it nearly brought me to tears — it reminded me that there is still so much goodness in the world. ❤️
I had just dropped my two kids off at daycare and planned to spend the day with my eldest daughter when my car battery suddenly died. Money had been tight — a few weeks earlier we had to replace my husband’s alternator and do a few other repairs, so things were already stretched thin.
I called roadside assistance, got a jump, and drove to the nearest battery shop. The man behind the counter showed me a few options and said kindly, “If money’s tight, go with this one. If not, this one’s a bit better.” I went with the cheaper one.
As we chatted, we discovered a few coincidences — his wife worked in childcare, they had four kids, and I also worked in childcare and had three.
When it came time to pay, he smiled and said, “I know how hard it is working in childcare while raising your own kids. You’re doing an amazing job.” Then he gave me $25 off the battery, just out of kindness.
It might not sound like much to some, but to me, it meant the world. It wasn’t just the money — it was the compassion behind it. A reminder that small acts of kindness can lift someone’s entire day. ❤️
