Survivor crowns a brand new world champion as a fan-favorite contestant becomes a two-time winner across the reality TV series franchise. As Survivor season 50 begins filming in the US, the glowingly popular Australian Survivor finds global attention. Season 13 of the show, Survivor: Australia V The World, is a massive crossover between former winners from its international versions.
Now, Survivor: Australia V The World has ended, revealing its sole winner in episode 10. In the final episode, US contestant Parvati Shallow won during Day 16. This makes her a two-time winner within the Survivor franchise, having previously won Survivor: Micronesia, which was season 16 of the US version. She’s one of three contestants who’ve won twice.
What Parvati Shallow’s Latest Survivor Win Means For The Franchise
Survivor: Australia V The World is Shallow fifth time on a season of Survivor. Alongside her winning season, she’s previously been a contestant in the US version on Survivor: Cook Islands (season 13), Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains (season 20), and Survivor: Winners at War (season 40). However, the Australian version is where she secured her second win in her appearances.
Her win puts her in the same category as other two-time winners, Tony Vlachos and Sandra Diaz-Twine. Vlachos won during Survivor: Cagayan (season 28) and the aforementioned Winners at War, while Diaz-Twine won Survivor: Pearl Islands (season 7) and the previously mentioned Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains. Shallow joining them makes for three US contestants who’ve won multiple seasons.
Vlachos joined Shallow as a US representative for Survivor: Australia V The World, alongside multi-season participant Cirie Fields.
However, Shallow’s win is unique because she participated in an international competition, making her the only two-time US Survivor winner to win on a global scale. Given her status as a fan-favorite, this emphasizes her skill because of her history on the series. Since it comes just after Shallow’s gripping memoir, it only bolsters her history on the show.
Our Take On Shallow Winning Her Second Survivor Season
Shallow has continued to be a constant within the Survivor franchise because of just how many seasons she’s been in. Now that she’s a two-time winner, though, it makes her even more of a unique case within the series. Her strategy of controlling the game has always helped her get far, with Survivor: Australia V The World being no exception.
As of writing, Shallow hasn’t been announced to be returning for any future seasons of Survivor. However, her current standing in the franchise on an international level now makes her one of the biggest faces of the series. With another win secured under her belt, only time will tell where her relationship with the series goes from here.
