“On Wednesday, I met a young man who had just passed his real estate exam—but the road to that moment wasn’t easy.

In January and February, Mike was homeless. He chose to live without a roof over his head so he could afford the exam fees. That’s the kind of determination he has.

Now, he’s back on his feet, ready to start his career—but he couldn’t afford a suit. And in real estate, first impressions matter.

So today, I met Mike at Men’s Wearhouse. We got him two suits, three shirts, two pairs of gently-worn dress shoes, and about 10 ties from my own closet.

He cried—twice. Not because of the clothes, but because, as he said, no one outside of his family had ever helped him before.

Sometimes, all people need is for someone to have their back. To show them they matter. To remind them that kindness still exists.

I believe in Mike. I believe he’s going to succeed. And I believe the world needs more moments like this—where we choose to care about someone other than ourselves.”
