My husband told me early on he was raising two amazing boys as a single dad. Their mom had remarried and moved to another state, but co-parenting never stopped them from putting the boys first. In fact, it brought us all closer—four parents who truly became friends. Together, we even welcomed two adopted babies just months apart last year. Every other Friday, I make the 100-mile drive to meet their mom halfway. And when she asks, “Can you stay with the boys while we’re away so they don’t miss school?” my heart is full to say yes.
