Morgan Pope’s Winning Strategy Proves Less Is More

Big Brother 27 has had its ups and downs when it comes to strategic gameplay, and one of the season’s underdog players has had a tough time keeping it together, despite having a winning strategy that’s proven to work in seasons’ past. Throughout Big Brother 27, viewers have struggled to watch as the cast has decimated their own alliances week after week.

While some players, like iconic returning houseguest Rachel Reilly, have been able to work through the game socially, others have struggled to find their footing when it comes to the competition. Big Brother players typically need to have a mix of social ability, strategic thinking, and competition prowess to make it through the game, but BB 27’s cast hasn’t shown many well-rounded players.

Even so, one of the most competitive houseguests left in the game has proven an age old strategy that’s been used by former winners consistently. Despite knowing that there are houseguests who will attempt to win every competition no matter the stakes, others have come to understand that winning when needed is vastly underrated, and often leads to a big win.

Big Brother 27’s Morgan Pope Has Won Three Clutch Veto Competitions

She’s Winning When She Needs To

Although some have struggled with Big Brother 27’s resident gamer Morgan Pope, her gameplay decisions have started to make more sense as the season has continued on. In aligning with two competitive men, Zach Cornell and Vince Panaro, early on in the game, Morgan was able to solidify her spot in the house without competition wins, positioning herself well socially.

Morgan’s competitive spirit made it seem like she was interested in winning the competitions, and while she likely would’ve wanted to win power earlier in the game, the longer she went without winning a competition, the better her position in the house was. Morgan has gone on in the last few weeks to win three power of veto competitions when she needed them the most.

Winning When Needed Is Always A Better Choice On Big Brother

Becoming Too Much Of A Competitive Threat Isn’t Ideal

While more competitive players on Big Brother tend to be willing to win anything because they’re always going to be threatening in the game, the majority of houseguests know that it’s smarter to win when you need to, but maintain safety socially otherwise. Making yourself out to be a competitive threat can be a game-ending decision, especially on Big Brother.

For the majority of the game, Morgan has managed to keep herself safe through her alliances, proving to be a worthy ally. While she’s had a few tough moments, like convincing Mickey Lee to nominate their mutual ally Jimmy Heagerty, she’s been in a decent social spot throughout the game. Winning when she’s had to, Morgan’s proven she has a winning strategy on Big Brother.

Big Brother airs Sundays, Wednesdays, & Thursdays at 8 p.m. EDT on CBS.
