Meet Kelsey. She’s sixteen. After she apologized for the huge delay in our coffee order, I inquired if they were short-handed. She replied, “Extremely. I’m the only one here today.” So today, I salute all the Kelseys out there, putting in the hard work that keeps society functioning.
(There was someone in the back handling the drive-thru. Kelsey wasn’t entirely alone, but she was managing the front alone. I’m clarifying this since people might worry about her safety. She single-handedly managed the front during a very busy afternoon, with no one available to assist her. She did an amazing job.)
