During the Big Brother 26 finale, host Julie Chen Moonves announced that the show would return for Big Brother 27, and there’s a lot to know about the much-anticipated new season. Big Brother 27 follows Big Brother 26, in which Chelsie Baham was crowned the victor by the jury of seven and won the $750,000 grand prize after a unanimous vote, and Makensy Manbeck took home the $75,000 second place prize. Fans voted Tucker Des Lauriers as America’s Favorite Houseguest, and he received $50,000.
Big Brother 26 was a wild ride of a season, with the Power of Veto being used a record-breaking 12 times in a row, including twice during double eviction week, and 13 out of 14 times total. The season featured many twists thanks to the A.I. entity Ainsley, including the Deepfake HOH, America’s Veto, the BB A.I. Arena, the A.I. Instigator, and Jankie World, featuring another A.I. creation named Jankie. It also included many iconic competitions, including The Wall, Hide-N-Go Veto, OTEV, and BB Comics. As fans look forward to Big Brother 27, here’s everything to know about it.

Host Julie Chen Moonves Announced Big Brother 27
At the end of the Big Brother 26 finale, Julie announced that the reality competition series would be returning for Big Brother 27. One of the last things that Julie said in the episode was, “We will see you again next summer!”
With an exciting announcement, CBS shared that Big Brother 27 will be returning for a bigger season than ever before that has some brand-new components. The new season will premiere with a super-sized 90-minute episode on July 10, and the first week of episodes will help roll out a new sister series to unpack the game, Big Brother: Unlocked. With host Julie returning for another season, the show will still be comprised of a trio of weekly Big Brother episodes, plus the new series which will see “former Houseguests share firsthand insight and expertise.”
Big Brother 27 Premiere Date
Big Brother Is A Summer Show
Big Brother 27 will premiere on July 10, a little earlier than the last few seasons of the series. With Big Brother returning to CBS, the show will air its three weekly episodes on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays throughout the season, but will be incorporating another show to walk viewers through the competition every other Friday. The first week’s schedule will be a bit different, with the season premiering on Thursday, July 10 at 8 p.m. EDT and then continuing with the Sunday show before moving into the regular season schedule. This season, all Wednesday episodes will be 90-minutes long.

Thursday episodes have traditionally been live eviction episodes. Times vary, but Big Brother episodes usually air in the 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. EDT time slots. Big Brother 27 Host
Julie Chen Moonves Seems To Be Returning
Because Julie said, “We will see you again next summer!,” it can be assumed that she’ll be returning as the host of Big Brother 27. She’s been hosting the show since it premiered in 2000. Julie hosts the live eviction episodes of the show, along with the premiere night and season finale episodes. During Big Brother 26, Julie missed a live eviction episode for the first time ever when she had COVID-19. Jerry O’Connell took her place during the live eviction episode, which was something that had never happened before.
Big Brother 27 Casting Notice
Big Brother Is Looking For Its Newest Houseguests
Although the Big Brother 27 cast most likely won’t be announced until days before its premiere, it’s fun to speculate about what it might look like. It’ll be thrilling to see whether the houseguests are new and/or returning cast members. It would also be exciting to have another All-Stars season, considering how many outstanding houseguests have played the game since Big Brother 22: All-Stars. Big Brother 27 has finished casting as a casting call advertisement for the new season aired during Big Brother 26. In addition, the CBS website announced, “Big Brother is now accepting applications for season 27!”
If Big Brother 27 is anything like the past few seasons, then it will be another roller coaster ride. Big Brother has been a summer staple for nearly 25 years, and there doesn’t seem to be an end in sight. No matter what happens, everyone should remember that, when it comes to Big Brother 27, they should always “expect the unexpected.”
