It’s been 10 years since the Confederate battle flag came down at the South Carolina Statehouse.
Today, it was raised again by the citizens.
“It’s in honor of a Confederate soldier,” said Braxton Spivey, president of Flags Across the South. “That’s a soldier’s banner — nobody owns it, nobody has the right to it. After the war, other organizations chose to take that flag and use it for their own purposes and disgraced my ancestor’s battle flag.”
