I’m Shocked Huda Escaped Two Eliminations (Is She Getting An Unfair Villain Edit?)

Huda Mustafa’s castmates finally had the chance to vote her out of the Love Island USA season 7 villa, and their choice to decline the opportunity has me questioning everything. Huda rose to the forefront of the season 7 drama due to her relationship with Jeremiah Brown, with whom she paired up on day one. The 24-year-old fitness trainer and single mother moved extremely fast with Jeremiah, and the pair talked about everything within days, from moving in together to tracking locations. However, as their whirlwind relationship started to crumble, so did Huda’s composure.

The islanders were already skeptical about Huda’s tight grip on Jeremiah, and their warnings caused Jeremiah to rethink his commitment. Viewers voted to recouple Jeremiah with bombshell Iris Kendall, leaving Love Island USA‘s Huda Mustafa single, and vulnerable. Her heartbreak continued when Jeremiah failed to check in with her afterward, and shared a bed with Iris while Huda cried herself to sleep. Huda’s fragility caused her to lash out at Jeremiah – she questioned his commitment. With Huda unraveling before our eyes, I was sure the islanders had had enough, but they proved me wrong not once, but twice.

Huda Narrowly Avoided Elimination Twice In A Matter Of Days

Do Her Castmates Know Something We Don’t?

After America recoupled Jeremiah with Iris, Huda was on the brink of elimination, along with Taylor Williams and Love Island‘s Charlie Georgiou. To the islanders’ dismay, they were forced to stand up and explain who they wanted out of the villa. Ace Greene and Nic Vansteenberghe voted for Huda, repeating their earlier concerns that her relationship with Jeremiah prevented them both from exploring other connections. However, in the final vote, Amaya Espinal chose to send Charlie home, citing his earlier attempt to woo her despite being coupled with Hannah Fields.

I thought it was clear that America split Huda and Jeremiah up as their relationship was becoming unhealthy. However, the women in the villa rallied around Huda, validating her belief that America wanted to save her from Jeremiah. The aftermath of the recoupling saw Huda become more enraged after Jeremiah and Iris’ beach date, which Huda called “my dream date.” She rebuffed Jeremiah’s attempt at conversation, throwing a pillow at him and calling him names.

A surprise recoupling just days after the first left Huda, once again, vulnerable. Based on her unraveling behavior, I was sure it was time for her to leave. However, the islanders continued to rally around her, with even Ace voting to save Huda from elimination over new bombshell Jalen Brown. The islanders’ decisions are making me question everything I thought I knew about Huda. I’m becoming convinced that they must have a good reason for siding with Huda, despite her messy behavior.

Is Huda Getting A Bad Edit?

She May Not Be As Villainous As She Seems

The Love Island USA cast’s choice to keep Huda in the villa leads me to suspect that editing may be to blame for her villain status. Most of the islanders have been slow to defend Jeremiah, and the women told Huda she was better off without him. This makes me wonder if they’ve seen more behind the scenes that caused them to take Huda’s side.

Everything I’ve seen about Jeremiah indicates he is honest and thoughtful. Their conversations showed numerous red flags on Huda’s part, from withholding the fact that she has a daughter to telling him not to discuss their problems with anybody else. But producers could be intentionally highlighting moments like these while hiding similar behavior from Jeremiah.

Huda’s so-called unraveling has made for enthralling television. I wouldn’t be surprised if producers want to make the most of the drama.

I’ve noticed that Jeremiah appears in fewer confessionals than Huda. It’s possible that footage of him acting just as possessive as Huda was left on the editing room floor, creating an apparent imbalance in their commitment to each other. Huda’s Castmates May Have Been Swayed By Their Loyalty To Her

They May Fear Backlash For Betraying Her

The allegiance of Huda’s Love Island USA castmates could also be behind their unexpected decision to keep her in the competition. Huda is part of the original season 7 cast, while Charlie and Jalen were both bombshells. They’d had less time to build relationships with the other islanders and, therefore, were easier targets for elimination.

The sisterhood between the women may also be responsible for keeping Huda around. They may be trying to replicate the strong bonds of the season 6 women, or perhaps they fear backlash for not being “girls’ girls” if they eliminate Huda while she’s clearly struggling. But at the end of the day, Love Island USA isn’t about friendships. It’s difficult to see how Huda can go on to build romantic connections at this point, but the islanders’ decisions have me convinced that there’s much more to the story than has been shown onscreen.
