I’m a police officer from Mount Vernon, Alabama, and I wanted to do something special to honor a World War II soldier who had passed away. During his funeral, I got out of my police car and stood still, paying my respects, as his procession drove into the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spanish Fort for Robert Lee Serling, who fought in the Pacific over 50 years ago and was 100 when he passed. I did it because I wanted to honor a fellow veteran from a small town like mine. ❤️
