I’m 40 now.

For years I wasted my life in bad habits. Rehab never worked. One day, everything changed.

My mom came into my room, fell to the floor, and through tears begged me, “Son… please stop.”

Something broke inside me that day. I saw her pain and love and realized I couldn’t keep destroying myself.

This time, I didn’t relapse. I fought. I rebuilt.

Today, at 40, I have a stable job. I saved enough to sponsor my mom and dad on a holiday — and I went with them. We’re laughing, travelling, making memories.

When I look at them now, I know: If they hadn’t been there… if they hadn’t handled me with such care… I wouldn’t have survived.
