“His teachers already bandaged him up. He was smiling. The incident report said he didn’t even cry. And honestly? I trust his teachers to handle it with the other child.

Do I need to be angry if my son isn’t? Nope.
Do I need to place blame on the other kid? Definitely not.

Because here’s the truth: my son’s been on the other side too. He’s been the kid who pushed. And back then, I remember the shame. The guilt. The please let another parent show me some grace kind of feeling.

So to the parents of the little one who bit mine: it’s okay.
Your child is learning. He’s doing his best. And so are you.

This wasn’t bullying. It wasn’t malicious. It was a child who didn’t yet have the words for his frustration, so he used his teeth. That’s not the end of the story — he’ll grow. He’ll learn.

And you know what? My son grew too. Six months ago, he would’ve hit back. Yesterday, he didn’t. He just moved on and kept playing. That’s progress.

He’s fine. And your baby will be too.

We’re on the same team.”
