Ex-Yankees star ready to embrace 'fun' — and boos — in long-awaited Bronx return

If Luis Severino’s return to The Bronx happened last year while with the Mets, he knows it would’ve been worse.

There would’ve been more boos when his first time as an opponent in the stadium he called home from 2015-23 overlapped with the Subway Series.

His “two good hitters” jab toward the Yankees earlier in the season probably wouldn’t have helped, either.

But the Mets, for a second time, reconfigured their rotation, and instead, Severino’s return to Yankee Stadium will unfold Sunday when the Yankees and A’s complete their series.
