“A few days late sharing, but I’m so grateful to report that my annual mammogram came back all clear! 🙌 From now on, I’ll only need to check in with my oncologist once a year, and I’ll continue scheduling mammograms every December.
There’s also been a recent shift in my treatment — I’ve transitioned from tamoxifen to an aromatase inhibitor combined with Lupron, which has put me into medically induced menopause. It’s a big change, and I’m still adjusting. I’m closely monitoring how I feel and how it affects my quality of life. If it doesn’t feel right in the long term, I’ll reevaluate — because that’s what advocating for ourselves looks like.
These past four years have transformed me. Cancer gave me resilience, courage, and a deeper independence than I knew was possible. But it also took things — friendships, ease, innocence, and the illusion of invincibility.
Through it all, I’ve used my voice online to support other young women walking a similar road. And now, starting in January, I’m taking a leap into a new chapter — pursuing an education in this field to eventually turn that support into a full-time calling. It’s scary, yes… but I’m tired of letting fear stop me from truly living.
My dear friend Abi, who we recently lost, never allowed fear to dictate her life. She lived by the “challenge by choice” mindset — and in her memory, I’m committed to doing the same. 💛
Here’s to courage, growth, and honoring the ones who showed us how to live bravely.”
