An 84-year-old woman called the station earlier this evening asking for help putting in her air conditioners. She said it was really hot in her house and she couldn’t find anyone to help her.
With the temperature hitting 85 degrees and more hot days in the forecast, SGT Spetelunas decided to help. He called Officer Borsari to join him, and the two of them went to her home to install one of her window AC units.
While they were there, some of the neighbors saw what was happening and joined in to help install the other two air conditioners for the couple.
It was a great moment that reminded everyone how kind and caring people can be.
