I work at a small café. My boss is, without a doubt, the kindest man I’ve ever known. But life dealt him a cruel hand — his 10-year-old son was diagnosed with cancer.

When the treatments began, their finances crumbled. For three months, my boss couldn’t afford to pay my salary. One day, he took me aside, his eyes heavy with shame, and said quietly, “Son… please look for another job. I can’t pay you. My boy needs everything I have.”

I looked at him and shook my head.
“No, Boss. I don’t need my salary. I’ll manage with my savings. Take care of your son. That’s all that matters now.”

Those were long months. Watching him fight for his child’s life was heartbreaking. But by God’s grace, his boy recovered.

This month, something happened that left me speechless. Not only did my boss give me my full salary — he gave me a bonus. And then, with trembling hands, he passed me a small handwritten note from his son.

It read: “Thank you, Uncle, for being there for me.”

I couldn’t hold back my tears. At that moment, every sacrifice felt so small compared to the gift of that boy’s life.
