Alterations: Shoud I or Shouldn’t I?
Hi y’alls!! I got this vintage gem recently and am considering doing some alterations to it. Skill/Ability is not the question, as I have life-long experience with sewing and garment making…but I was wondering if any fellow sewists have ideas on altering such beautiful relics.
I would be doing all of these alterations by handstitching and incredibly careful dethreading.
I’m thinking of altering the top of the gown’s shoulder width as well as shortening the rounded hem about 2-3 inches. Not interested in altering the silhouette, just want to make some fit adjustments.
