On the train platform today, I noticed a young man struggling with his tie. A woman in a red coat spotted him too and asked gently, “Do you know how to tie it properly?”
He replied, “No, ma’am.”
Without missing a beat, she tapped her husband’s arm and said, “Come over here and teach this young man how to tie his tie.”
The older gentleman moved right away—almost instinctively—and gave the young man a step-by-step tutorial. Then he patiently watched as the young man repeated the steps, making sure he had learned.
I was a little distance away, but close enough to hear the exchange. I got closer just in time to capture this candid photo of the lesson in progress.
Moments like this—simple, human kindness passed between generations—make my whole day. ❤️
