Tonight while waiting to eat in Hattiesburg, my little girl Macie spotted an Army soldier. As he walked in, she quietly said, “Thank you for your service,” but he didn’t hear her.
When he came back out, she got shy, so I spoke up and told him what she had said. He smiled, thanked her, and headed toward his vehicle.
But then—he got back out, walked over to Macie, and said, “Can you hold on to something for me?” He pointed to the flag patch on his right arm and let her take it off to keep. 🇺🇸
Y’all, talk about chills and tears. 🥹 Moments like this remind me why I teach my kids to always thank the men and women in uniform. Gratitude matters, and tonight Macie got a memory she’ll carry forever. ❤️
