During a prank, a student stuck a note on his classmate’s back that read “I’m Stupid” and told the rest of the class not to say anything.

So throughout the day, students snickered behind his back.

That afternoon, during math class, the teacher wrote a difficult problem on the board. No one could solve it—except the boy with the sticker. Amid the quiet laughter, he walked confidently to the board and solved it with ease.

The teacher asked the class to applaud him, then gently removed the paper from his back. She said:

“Perhaps you didn’t know someone had placed this sign on you. But let me tell the rest of you two important things:

First: In life, people will try to put labels on you—hurtful words meant to hold you back. If this boy had known what was written, he might have doubted himself and never come forward. Don’t let others’ labels define you. Focus on learning, growing, and improving yourself.

Second: Not one of you spoke up to defend him. That shows he has no loyal friend among you. Remember—it doesn’t matter how many friends you have. What matters is loyalty. If your friends don’t protect you when you’re not looking, you’re better off walking alone.”

Always have each other’s backs.
