When my wife went to visit her sister, I never imagined she’d come home with an extra passenger. But there he was—this gentle, broken boy with the saddest eyes I’d ever seen. We later learned the truth: he had been tied behind a car and dragged. His paw pads were raw, worn down to the point where every step must have felt like walking on fire. 💔

Those first days were hard. He needed boots just to step outside, and we carried him more than he walked. But even through the pain, he wagged his tail, leaning on us as if he already knew he was safe.

Two weeks later, our lives are completely different. We no longer know what personal space is—he follows us from room to room, curling against us at every chance. He wants to be near, always touching, as if he can’t quite believe love is real. And honestly, we don’t mind one bit.

His past may have been cruel, but his future is bright. What was once a dog discarded and hurt has now become the heart of our home. We didn’t just rescue him—he rescued us right back. ❤️🐾
