Today, a gentleman came by to pick out his puppy. I noticed his hat right away and asked if he had served “over there.”
He shared his story — about an IED, the stroke it caused, and how it changed his life at just 25 years old. When he told me he’d come back in a few weeks with the rest of the money for the pup, my answer was simple:
“You don’t owe me a thing.” He’s already paid more than enough.
