Meet Lena.
This sweet 5-month-old kitten was rescued by a Tampa Bay volunteer from Rescue Pets of Florida after being found barely clinging to life. She arrived with a fractured jaw and couldn’t even open her mouth to eat. At just 1.8 pounds, she was rushed straight to an emergency clinic.
Despite her pain and hunger, Lena purred the entire time—like she somehow knew she was finally safe.
Her rescuers shared: “Lena is full of energy and such a little purr machine! She eats four packs of TikiCat mousse a day. She’s a messy eater, but she loves every bite.”
But without urgent treatment, her jaw will fuse shut, making it impossible for her to eat. Lena needs reconstructive oral surgery costing over $5,000. Thanks to support from Greater Good Charities’ Emergency Animal Medical Fund, her medical expenses can be covered.
The good news: Lena’s prognosis is strong. Once she recovers, she’ll be ready for adoption. Given her sweet, affectionate nature, rescuers are confident she’ll quickly find a loving forever home—indoors, where she belongs.
