Papa stopped by our door today, dropping off a snack because Kenzley hadn’t gotten up to feed yet. When I looked at him, I could see in his eyes that something wasn’t right. I asked, “Are you okay?” He gave a quick nod and said, “Yeah, I’m fine.” But I knew he wasn’t.
I gently asked again, “What’s wrong?”
He lowered his eyes and said, “I think I just got too hot yesterday, but complaining won’t help. Things have to get done around here, one way or another.”
In that moment, it hit me—how often we take our farmers for granted. Day after day, they push through the scorching heat and the biting cold. They don’t complain, because they know the work won’t wait. And because of their sacrifice, we have food on our tables, fuel in our tanks, and crops to sustain us.
So today, I just want to say thank you. Thank you to the papas, the dads, the uncles, the aunts, the men and women who rise before the sun and work until it sets.
But more than a simple thank you—I ask you to pray for them. Farmers need our encouragement, our support, our gratitude, and our prayers. Let’s never forget the dedication and sacrifice they give, every single day, so the rest of us can live well.
