Rylie Jeffries’ In-Game Behavior Sparks Fan Backlash

Big Brother 27 has seen some difficult houseguests move through the game, but one housguets’ in-house behavior caused major fan backlash that rippled through the rest of their BB experience. While the majority of the Big Brother 27 houseguests have been making their way through the game, each week the cast has faced another eviction that’s left them down a player.

While some evictions have been celebrated more than others, the majority of Big Brother 27’s houseguests have been leaving the house through waves of tears and difficult emotions from their fellow players. Though the remaining houseguests are happy to be staying in the game, they’ve felt a tremendous sense of loss with each passing eviction of the season, none more than Rylie Jeffries.

Though Rylie was a houseguest favored by the others, his perception outside of the Big Brother house wasn’t good. Rylie’s life at home was presented in a positive light on TV, but took a different shape from those who know him personally. With some major drama going on outside the house and an interestingly edited showmance within, Rylie’s perception wasn’t what it seemed.

Rylie Jeffries Behaved Poorly In The BB House

Throughout Big Brother 27, Rylie was one of the houseguests who seemed to mystify his fellow BB players the most. While viewers who keep up with Big Brother online knew that there were some difficult rumors about his personal life swirling online, he seemed to be a kind, genuine guys to the majority of his fellow Big Brother 27 houseguests.

Rylie came across as a genuine southern man without much experience in the game of manipulation, but it was clear that he had an affinity for Katherine Woodman, a fellow houseguest. The pair fell into a quick showmance and bonded, but when they were alone, Katherine and Rylie struggled to communicate clearly. The way he spoke to her often felt manipulative and overbearing.

Rylie’s BB Exit Press Was Cut Almost Entirely

After Rylie was evicted from the Big Brother house, it was revealed that his exit press was canceled due to “scheduling issues”, and while many wondered if he would become available in the following week. While some questions were able to be submitted to him via email, he wasn’t available for the same style of exit interviews as other houseguests.

While Rylie’s behavior in the house wasn’t always shown to its fullest extent, those watching the BB live feeds got to see his genuine behavior. Many struggled with the way he spoke to Katherine in the game, and found it hard to see him seemingly making her uncomfortable week after week. Even petitioning to have him removed, Rylie not being held accountable was shocking.

BB Doesn’t Condone Poor Behavior, But Also Doesn’t Stop It

Although Big Brother does have a history of removing houseguests for breaking their code of conduct, Rylie’s behavior appeared to be within their limits. While Big Brother didn’t choose to remove Rylie from the game, protecting him from difficult questions by canceling his press was a confusing move for viewers. Ultimately, Big Brother didn’t condone his behavior, but didn’t stop it, either.

Big Brother airs Sundays, Wednesdays, & Thursdays at 8 p.m. EDT on CBS.
