Noah Carrigan has been fascinated with garbage trucks since he was 5 years old. He would set up bins around the house, pretending to collect trash, and had special garbage day shirts and toys.

Every week, Noah would eagerly wait for the garbage truck in his Sarasota, FL, community. His father would take him around in a golf cart to follow the truck and watch the collection process. The garbageman always made time for Noah, honking the horn and greeting him.

When Noah found out his favorite garbageman was retiring, he wanted to give him a proper farewell. He prepared gifts including a note, his toy bin, a truck, and a gift card he received for his birthday.

“Noah has such an appreciation for somebody who took the time out for him and was so kind,” Catherine, Noah’s mom, commented. “We’re just grateful for him for being such a positive influence on his childhood.”
