Big Brother 27 Live Feeders Accuse Producers of Manipulating Episode Edit

Big Brother 27 fans have accused the producers of manipulating the edit of the week 4 Power of Veto episode after they watched what really happened on the live feeds. During Big Brother 27 week 4, Rylie Jeffries won the Head of Household (HOH) competition, but Mickey Lee overthrew him with her HOH Interrogation power when he failed to guess her identity because he thought that Ashley Hollis had the power.

Mickey later nominated Rylie, Keanu Soto, and Kelley Jorgensen for eviction, but, when Keanu won the Power of Veto, Mickey had to name a replacement nominee. She decided it was time to turn on her Triple Threat alliance member, Jimmy Heagerty, because she and Morgan Pope found out that he’d made a deal with the other side of the house, and so she nominated him.

In an X post, Taran Armstrong, a Big Brother commentator, pointed out how different the CBS Power of Veto episode was from what actually happened on the live feeds. He wrote, “This has to be one of the least accurate edits in a BBUS episode I’ve seen in a long time. I really feel like I’m watching Big Brother Canada right now. #BB27.”

Fans responded to the post with examples of how they felt that the Big Brother producers had manipulated the edit. One thing that was left out of the episode was Rachel Reilly volunteering to go on the chopping block to Mickey because she’d heard that the houseguests wanted to make her the first juror. She expressed that she’d rather go home to her family than spend the rest of the summer stuck in the Jury House.

One viewer wrote, “Conveniently forgot Rachel volunteering herself to avoid jury too! Amnesia edit.” However, some fans countered that Big Brother would never air that because Rachel didn’t actually quit, and the show wouldn’t want to ruin her reputation.

In addition, some viewers were outraged that Vince Panaro was being given credit for suggesting that Mickey name Jimmy as the replacement nominee because it was actually Keanu who pushed the idea.

One fan wrote, “Bending over backwards and lying to viewers, changing the order of events in order to give Vince credit for this move? They are pushing a false Vince ‘winner’ edit at all costs. It’s insulting.” Another fan expressed a similar sentiment, writing, “Keanu was way more influential than Vince in getting Jimmy in their heads. That really p***** me off.”

What Inaccurate Episode Means For Big Brother 27

Live Feeders Are Unhappy With The Show

What makes Big Brother different from other reality TV shows are the 24/7 live feeds, which capture all of the action. While they’re turned off for competitions and in other instances, fans can tune in most of the time to see exactly what’s going on in the house. When the producers manipulate the footage to further their own narratives, fans feel insulted because they’ve seen what actually occurred.

In addition, inaccurate Big Brother episodes are detrimental to the houseguests because they’re biased towards certain contestants. If people who don’t watch the live feeds incorrectly believe that Vince is a mastermind because of the inaccurate edit, then they might favor him in the case of an America’s vote over Keanu. This is very unfair, and implies favoritism from the Big Brother producers.

Our Take On Big Brother 27 Editing Out Rachel’s Huge Move

Big Brother Should Try To Give A More Accurate Picture

While it’s understandable that Big Brother can’t include every little thing that happens in the house, Rachel’s attempt to get herself nominated was a huge storyline that was edited out. Houseguests aren’t allowed to ask the HOH to nominate them for the purposes of self-eviction, so Rachel had to speak in code to Mickey.

Rachel asked Mickey to nominate “Ava,” which was a code name for herself. Her reasoning was that she’d rather go home if the houseguests wanted to make her the first member of the Jury, so that she could spend the rest of the summer with her family, including her husband and Big Brother showmance partner, Brendon Villegas, and her two children, instead of waiting in the Jury House until finale night.

Rachel is a fierce competitor, so this was probably simply a moment of weakness on her part, and she might not have really meant it. However, it could become important down the line. Big Brother still has the footage, so it’s possible that this could air later in the season if it becomes an issue again.

It’s very frustrating to know that the Big Brother 27 producers didn’t tell the full story about what happened in week 4. However, after 25 years, fans have learned that this happens often, so keeping up with the live feeds by watching them or reading about them on social media is a necessity if they want to know what’s really going on.

Fans are aware that they should “expect the unexpected” when it comes to Big Brother, but they were blown away by this surprising and wildly inaccurate edit.

Big Brother 27 airs Sundays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and every other Friday on CBS.
