Why did Hunter cheer when Kody talked about his conception?

In this scene, Kody loudly says “Thanks for being born!” through a megaphone during Christmas. Hunter fires back, “Thanks for conceiving me,” and Kody responds, “That’s a memory, believe me.”
And then everyone laughs, but Hunter throws his fist in the air like he just won a championship.

I can’t stop thinking about how most people would absolutely cringe if their parents made any comment about having sex, let alone in front of the entire family on Christmas morning. But Hunter treated it like a flex.

Was it just him leaning into the awkwardness to keep the mood fun? Was it his way of showing affection for Janelle? Or is this just another example of the weird energy Kody brings into everything?

It's just such a weird scene, especially since all the wives and most of the kids were there.
