The veteran has rescued more than 1,500 dogs; turning his passion for aeronautics into a form of help.
After purchasing a small plane, Steklenski began transporting shelter dogs with high euthanasia rates in the southern United States to shelters where they got a second chance at life. Motivated by her own experience adopting a dog named Tessa, she founded Flying Fur Animal Rescue, a non-profit organization dedicated to saving animal lives.
