This vintage beaded cocktail gown. But how to dress/undress with no zipper?
I picked up this vintage beaded cocktail dress. I wanted to photograph it, so I put it on the mannequin ( not my size) . The dress is thick wool blend that has stretch, and it took MINUTES of careful work to get it on. I left it on for two days because I didn’t want to go through taking it off. When I did take it off, it lost a couple beads despite my most careful attempt.

I’m left feeling like this is not a practical dress that could be worn many times and stay intact. I did some research and I guess that is common of beaded gowns?

Is there a reason WHY a dress like this would not have had a zipper installed to prevent damage through dressing/undressing? Aesthetic? Construction?

Would love anyone who could way in on this.
